This turned out to be a knockoff and I was duped by the similar fake title in Yellow and Black and feel this paperback falls miserably short of my expectations. It shows how unethical this person is taking using a Trademark name of another journal. This is NOT the “Five minute Journal” you think it is. It's actually really bad attempt to copy the actual book. I'd be less upset if this wasn't so obviously meant to deceive people into thinking they are purchasing the real book. Maybe it's because the camera distances one, or maybe simply because he's photographed so many people, but Scott is very self-aware. He is comfortable explaining WHY he chooses certain things. Of course the photos are interesting, sometimes beautiful, but to get to why something has value is an amazing (and relatively rare) thing. Personally, I would be interested in a book with more insight (aka more writing, of course still with images). Many people think that fashion is flighty and impermanent. This book however demonstrates that, regardless of your position, fashion can be a direct conduit to the mind and soul of the individual, and a wonderful conversation between the individual and the world.

I returned this book because it wasn't as inspiring as I expected. I thought it would be like looking at the blog, but featuring the most interesting people. I lost interest after flipping through it a couple times and was really wanting a book I could return to again and again for inspiration (like Design Sponge, but for fashion; I could flip through that book 100 times). For me, I think there were too many men shown and I was really only interested in women's fashion.

Ok. Let me confess. I'm a huuuge fan of the blog. This book is a presentation of the best pictures culled from Scot Schuman's blog, The Sartorialist. It is a visual and stylish delight. Absolutely wonderful to flip through. The photographs are stunning studies of individual style and quite a colorful inspiration. See all those boots and carmel brown shoes in the photos? Now look around, and you'll see them everywhere in everytown. I think Scot S made a strong impact on fashion, by stylishly chronicling it.

The content is amazing- Love all the images.The quality of the book/pages/print is excellent.In 2005, The Sartorialist author (and photographer) Scott Schuman, began a photography blog covering the "Fashion Forward" and Fashion Week on the East and West coast of No America and Europe. He is very stylish himself! and has a great eye for spotting a Fashionista on the street! His blog has been a hit ever since.
