Ok, I liked this book, but the few grammatical errors were frustrating to me. I did love reading about Bronco falling in love and that he is native American. I saw that Arielle's book is the last one of the series. Augh! Sarah was a nasty piece of work. I hope whichever agent gets her will knock her down a peg or two. I would have liked to see Claudette speak the four languages she knows and where and why she learned them. I realize these are novellas, but I would love some more back story on the H and h. Oh, I think Archie and Marianne's story will play out in the other books. I was really looking forward to reading a book dedicated to their romance. All in all a good read. Can't wait for the next book.

This was another fun story about the Pinkertons Matchmaking. Claudette and Bronco are totally different, yet in many ways the same. Claudette is from New Orleans and Bronco is an Indian. The gifts they both bring to the case and the marriage are fun and helpful. They fall for each other immediately, but through some belly laugh situations they come to realize they can’t annul the marriage at the end of the case. Claudette learns that relying on Bronco is a very good thing. And Bronco learns that having a wife is even better than he imagined. Looking forward to book 5

Where do i start love a good book Bronson and Claudette they make a good match.She not afraid to solve a case.She ask Bronson why a knife then he loses his concentration drops his knife lol married less then 12hours and your already nagging. I'm glad Marianne match them up. Can't wait for next one

Claudette has her work cut out for her with the wild man that is her husband and the scary dangerous job ahead of them. Good thing she is a smart cookie who has an interesting sidekick in another female agent.

WOW! These just keep getting better and better! Women disappearing with no clues. Exciting, dangerous, and the best couple match to this point! Loving this series!

If you haven't started reading this series, you are missing out! It's that good! Can't wait to read the next one but have to say this author did an excellent job with the suspense thank you!

This is a wonderful story from Christine Sterling!Claudette is recently widowed and looking for a new adventure. Bronco is a Pinkerton Agent who hasenjoyed the effects his good looks have on woman, but is finally thinking that it is time to settle down and think of his future.When Bronco and Claudette meet sparks fly and there is an obvious attraction. But neither of them imagines that they will be matched to solve a case and that they will have to marry in name only so Claudette's reputation will be protected as they work together...You can imagine what these circumstances can provoke... I really enjoyed this story! It was very engaging, and the solving of the case made it all the more exciting. The governor's daugther is missing and they have to find the kidnappers. It has danger, adventure, intrigue, sweet romance and lots of humor!I fell in love with the characters. I felt Bronco and Claudette were the perfect match. I want to read more stories from the other characters. I liked Claudette and Arielle's friendship. I want to read more about Arielle's story...I definitely recomend it. Delightful read!I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my voluntary and unbiased review.

When you are the mother of a large family, it's easy to be skeptical about how much you are going to learn from any new book about babies. This book is, beyond a doubt, an exception to that rule. Ms. Haelle and Dr. Willingham do a phenomenal job covering a breadth of topics that is nearly overwhelming. From drinking in pregnancy to home birth and beyond, the authors take the most important points present in the literature and make them accessible to the savvy parent who wants more information than is often given.If there was one improvement I would have suggested, I feel that the authors could have encouraged greater wariness regarding home birth. As someone whose home birth midwife committed negligence, I wish that more detail had been given in terms of properly vetting care providers. However it is one area of disagreement in an otherwise excellent book.

An excellent and informative book. I have only one complaint, and being in academics it's a big one. The authors cover an enormous amount of literature, which I'm sure is legitimate, but they do not provide references or footnotes to look up these studies. Since their findings are consistent with other studies I've read I trust them, but I would really like to be able to look up some of the individual studies myself.

This was easily my favorite parenting book so when I went to write the review, I was curious who didn't like it, and it turns out they either thought it was not technical enough or too technical. I thought they used a reasonable amount of "trust me" to be succinct, but not so much you couldn't figure out what study they were talking about if you wanted to dig further. I don't have time to read medical journals, or time to read made up BS, so I thought this was great.

I think this should be handed out by obgyns at your first ultrasound.. such a great resource, I wish it had been available when I was pregnant. I got a copy of it when my little one was 6 months old (over a year now) and it's still something I pick up often. I thoroughly appreciate the authors' style of presenting the research and allowing the reader to draw their own conclusions. It feels so much less judgemental than some over the other parenting books out there.. yay science! This is now my default gift for any new mom's.

Wanted to love this book, but I find it barely usable. As a scientist myself, I can handle scientific writing, but this is just poorly written. It’s difficult to extract the takeaway points; each section could really benefit from a bulleted summary at the end. The pregnancy portion of the book pales in comparison to Emily Oster’s “Expecting Better”, and the parenting portion, while interesting, suffers from confusing organization and overall vagueness. And why on earth did the authors choose not to include their references?! At least it wasn’t expensive.

This book is fantastic. I read it through in a few days, but I still refer back to it all the time on any number of issues. It has everything you need to know about safe sleep, feeding, vaccinations, etc. Well written, non-judgmental, and clear. I highly recommend the Kindle edition. I have that on my iPhone's Kindle app for easy access at any time.

Great read! They explain research in laymen terms.. but do not over simplify things. They also share personal stories of child rearing but make it clear that these are just personal stories and what worked for them may not work for everyone. The authors definitely don't seam to push an agenda and are pretty unbiased. I would read more book from them!

Nice, easy read. A handy reference for many common parenting topics. Most negative reviews here are from people who did not buy the book or are upset that a science-based book doesn't peddle antivax nonsense.

This is an annual purchase for me. I still haven't been able to use the internet once I land in any city on the planet to determine what is good when/where. I've also said this before - the cost remains under 2 drinks in any global major city. For those which say "we have happy hour" - sure you do, with cheap vodka/rum, etc. But the costs will still run you close to the purchase price for any drink you actually want. Apps can only take you so far....Just buy it, you'll no longer have to wonder were to go across the globe.

He holds faculty appointments in the University of Delaware’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and School of Public Policy and Administration. Dr. Kauffman holds a bachelor of science degree in civil and environmental engineering from Rutgers University and a master of public administration degree in watershed policy and a doctorate degree in marine policy, both from the University of Delaware.

It's typically assumed you're going to have the big Lindeburg Civil Engineering Reference Manual (CERM) for the PE exam, especially the morning section. This book bills itself as having all the extra information that you would need for the specialty afternoon session. However, there's not much in here that isn't already in the CERM. In fact, sometimes the CERM has *more* information on a given topic. I got this book and compared the sections, ultimately deciding that didn't offer any significant advantage over what was already in the CERM. The overlap of this book with the CERM is at least 80%.It has a few more step-by-step breakdowns, examples, and practice problems, but you'll need to spend a lot of time on PPI's errata site to correct all the errors in the book. It feels like pages were wasted with needlessly large graphics, lists, and tables that aren't going to be used on the exam.Save the hundred-plus dollars and carefully go through the CERM and a few of your water resources and environmental textbooks from school.

Waste of money. This books is a copy of what’s in the CERM. So many errors and so confusing. The practice problems at end of sections is just a waste of time because they are the exact same problems as the examples but with different numbers. Very disappointed with this book.

The book is really good. I'm more of an examples kind if learner. His book has examples for every topic and it gives you them step by step. It's easy to understand how they came to their solution. As far as teaching or explaining some of the material, I can't comment. I mostly look at the example and learn from there so haven't really read much if the text. There are a few mistakes in some if the examples but that's rare to see. I would recommend it to anyone trying to learn hydraulics and see how it can be applied to real world applications. I have it a 4 because I haven really rea the text.

I passed the PE fairly easily on my first try, and only used this book in the beginning of my studying. I soon found that not only was pretty much everything covered here also covered in the CERM, but the CERM covered it in more detail, with better explanations, and with more clarity. Even though this book is published as part of the same series as the CERM, they do NOT complement each other as study resources, because this book uses different (and not internally consistent) symbology from the CERM and the industry in general.This book ended up being confusing in a few different places, partly because it did not fully explain some concepts, and partly because it did not adequately connect related concepts to each other. Even worse, the symbology is not internally consistent within this book - in one particularly egregious example, lowercase t is used for two different variables (time and aquifer thickness) in the numerator and denominator of the same equation. The CERM version of the same equation uses h for aquifer thickness, which both eliminates the confusion and is consistent with industry standard for calculations involving water flowing through soil and saturated soils.My advice: don't waste your money on this book. The CERM is expensive, but it really is all you need for the PE exam, not just for the breadth but also for the WRE depth.

This book was not worth it at all. When you begin prep for the PE you buy things thinking you will need them and i found that this book was completely useless. not worth purchasing as a matter of fact i'm not even a really big fan of the lindeburg guy his books are overrated.

As a comprehensive review of the water resources and environmental topics, it is a decent book.However, as a study guide for the PE, it is pretty worthless. It goes over the same topics as the CERM and doesn't provide much additional help. Taking the water resources PE exam just this spring, I thought this book might help both with studying and with during the exam, but I found that I barely used it for studying and didn't even use it during the exam.It is a decent book to have for the rest of my life at my desk at work if I need a quick review of certain topics, since it is better than the CERM, but there are better and cheaper options for that.
