This is an excellent book for anyone who wants to learn how to trade Iron Condors, but it's much more than that, I should know as I trade options on a regular basis. There are a number of things that I really like about the content, this is not just an overview but it actually contains some really practical information on how to make real trades.As a person who has spent thousands of $$ in the past on trading education I only wish I'd found this ebook 5 years ago. It is not often that trading courses will actually get down to real small details of trading, they often give you the big picture and then expect you to fill all the details.What I like the most is the emphasis on the preparation that you need to make before and during trading, something that most traders ignore. This includes the trading plan, trading journal and trading log, if you don't keep these you are never going to be a good trader, I learn't the hard way.I also very much like the actual Iron Condor trading plan presented in the book, again it's not very often that a trader will give out all these details, and for the price, wow I would pay at least 10x for this!.The trading plan is very conservative so trading Iron Condors may not be for everyone if you are the sort of trader that likes action. If that is you you may want to take a look at this product which covers Iron Condors as well as some other option strategies Stock Market Options Trading Education - Iron Condor, Credit Spreads, Calendar Spreads, Calls and Puts, The Greeks, Trade Adjustements, Portfolio Management, Over 24 Hours of VideoThe plan includes how to enter and exit trades, legging in, checklists. I have read many books, and taken at least 3 option training courses. I have been successful at tradingspreads. However in order to truly master this concept one must manage losers. One must know what todo when the trade goes against him. Better yet is to start with odds in your favor when you place the trade.This book was written by a man with knowledge and experience. As I read this book I felt like he had beenwatching me trade. I never traded the indexes and I can see this is a big advantage. His money managementof iron condor trading is outstanding. One thing he could add is the concept of rolling losing trades. I havemastered these by rolling down and out with increased number of contracts: about 2 to one ratio. What I do is keep mypowder dry so when I have a loser I can increase my number of contracts and sell short leg at half of the losingshort leg so I can move the trade out of money or farther out. He made a great point to close the loser and wait and then roll down and out. That move should really help turn a loser around to a winner.The entire drawback to iron condors is multiple small gains with occasion large losers. So if you can managethe losers you have a professional trading model. Let me just confirm one thing everything in this book works.You as a trader need to form a plan and then execute the plan and you will make money. Gavin gives you a simple trading plan, now all you have to do is execute the plan. So if you can follow directions you will make money.
There were many verbal examples, but in addition there should've been many more numerical examples.For example, the Adjustment Section really needed many more numerical examples because of the number of problems one could encounter with an Iron Condor (In the early days on the floor of the CBOE, Iron Condors were called Trapezoids) and for each problem 3 or 4 adjustments are possible.The author lists at least 5 common problems that could be encountered after setting up an Iron Condor.Assuming 4 or 5 possible adjustments for each problem, maybe more depending on time to expiration, change in volatility, size and direction of the underlying's move , etc. .I believe there should be at least 40 or 50 more numerical examples in the book.This is a Kindle book, not printed on paper, so many more additional pages with those numerical examples would not cost anything.I suggest the author add many more pages with many more examples and a more detailed explanation of each adjustment.Add 40 or 50 more examples on adjusting Iron Condors.Reissue the book with the same title but with 2015 on the front.
