Remarkably well suited for read-aloud times to classes and library groups but also appropriate for the child at home to plop down on the floor and gaze-to-learn scanning page after page of interesting people, places, and stuff about cities.Designed for the young child, there are NO WORDS. Well, basically no words. This is a "make your imagination" do the storytelling type of book or a "let's talk about that" type of book.So if you have the space for a huge book, this is a good one. Oversized at 13.4" x 18.2" it is a hefty book though only 1/2" thick. CITY is a giant wordless book that features images of a city. Well, it's not quite wordless. There are one word descriptions of the different places, people, and things that the book features. Some of the places featured are the fire department, movie theater, bookstore, port, airport, newsstand, hotel, police station, museum, construction site, bakery, coffee shop, and zoo. In addition to places, the book features people a person might see in the city (such as cyclist) and things (such as bridge). The illustrations are fun and jovial. Overall, CITY is a board book that children will probably enjoy flipping through and discussing with their parents.
